Expropriated history

Expropriated history

A Chapter by Lyn Anderson
"

revisionist mystery

"
When you became an Ex,
apparently that gave you
some Extraordinary powers
of Expropriation --
but you did not pay the
requisite penalty
to revise our history --

The white knight
who always did right,
abandoned the damsel to toil
in dungeons of despair
caring for your brood,
forced to bend with
your every mood.

You do not get the
posthumous prize
in your new guise
the perfect daddy
wonderful husband
Excellent server
of supreme bullshit --

you might forget
but I remember it.

Author's Note

Lyn Anderson
I chose this song for a lot of reasons, one of which is the story of Troy
is one of the biggest betrayals of history.

Experienced this with my parents and myself. No one throwing rice or having receptions for this huh.

Nope. I just wish it could be a little quicker and a little more civil.
KL, this poem reminds me, of my uncle bitter battle with his ex, who poison my cousin, to the rest of the family. He took my cousin, to another province, because he was sick and tired of waiting, for the Ontario system to work. Had he waited, my cousin would have been awarded to him. I hope, you don't have to face, a similar battle with your ex. For no one wins.

Yes there is always something.
Another fine rant on the inequities of the divorce system here. I know you well enough to know the "post humus" instead of "posthumous" must be intentional, but I am missing something.
Well done.

Nope, the auto correct got me. Thanks.
How the actors shuffle off their parts when parting is no sweet sorrow! A hard hitting wake up call indeed.

I don't have an ex myself - but my parents split and it was nasty on both sides. this poem has fangs, and rightly so. Well done.
