Expropriated history

Expropriated history

A Chapter by Lyn Anderson
"

revisionist mystery

"
When you became an Ex,
apparently that gave you
some Extraordinary powers
of Expropriation --
but you did not pay the
requisite penalty
to revise our history --

The white knight
who always did right,
abandoned the damsel to toil
in dungeons of despair
caring for your brood,
forced to bend with
your every mood.

You do not get the
posthumous prize
in your new guise
the perfect daddy
wonderful husband
Excellent server
of supreme bullshit --

you might forget
but I remember it.

Lyn Anderson
I chose this song for a lot of reasons, one of which is the story of Troy
is one of the biggest betrayals of history.

I read once that 'History is written by the winners'. Not so. This is a case in point.
The biggest losers often paint themselves a sainthood.
I see this is two years old. I hope my reviewing it isn't painful for you KL.

Thank you for taking the time. And no, not too painful.

Welcome KL.
:)
You be that voice raging against the injustice of callous abrogation of loving responsibility too men are guilty of in pursuit of their own base desires.

You're welcome.
It is funny how people think that we will conveniently "forget" things.. that things weren't as bad as we remember... I don't get that.. forgiveness is one thing, doesn't mean you forget.. doesn't mean you get a free pass to repeat the mistakes of the past either.. and then those who put on an "act" for everyone else.. trying to manipulate not only history but the present and future as well. people who know them, know better.. the strength and edge that is expressed well in this piece will get you through it.. ((hugs)) to ya, cuz from experience, I know, it hurts no matter how resilient we are.. kids are pretty good at learning quick.. and their bullshit meter works pretty well :)

He must suffer from the short memory syndrome. It is characterized by the sight of his butt hanging out in the air and his head shoved into the sand, a very peculiar form of denial. Selective memory disorder, perhaps? He's able to blurr the truth in his own life, and he's hoping everyone else's memory has been similarly altered. Perhaps, he'll be abducted by aliens next and his memory will be completely wiped clean. Now, that would be convenient! :)

You can't s**t a shitter … you know why … s**t is slippery. And it sounds like nothing is going to stick to this one. You are battling with his ego, pure and simple.

Ouch … that is low.
Sounds like a good thing you showed him the ex-it. This was exceptional KLGoode. If I could reach into this screen and hug you, I would. But I can't, I tried, it won't let me.

Oh most definitely. A long haul yet, but the direction is correct.
Exquisitely sharp writing. It feels very real even to the reader. Some people live in their own reality just rewriting history as they plow through other lives.

Very clever young lady… we can always forgive but it is hard to forget when we are betrayed, lead astray or abandoned.

Always a pleasure sweetie,
this is a much too often human tragedy these days .. so sad that one can believe pouring salt in old and newly made woulds is a good thing .. how deep the darkness that guides such decisions .. especially when children are targets .. healing peace and joy to you KL
