chests open
hearts devoured
in vain
attempts to
what?

who knows?
an abstract
feeling.
an offering
to an unforgiving
deity.

when the man
who made
false promises
on an altar
of synthetic afterthoughts
eats your heart,
what satisfaction
does he get?

he thinks
he ate it all,
but he did not.
and now he
can live with
the heartburn ... 

                        knowing I saved
                        the choicest cuts
                        for someone
                        new.

Love it, where did these ancient societies get such weird rituals from, I've heard the theories but then they still say that something can be gained from rhino horn if you live in Asia, its popular I hear to eat all sorts of odd and sometimes sad things to gain health, of course the Aztecs also believed doubtless the sacrifice would please the Gods, seems they were wrong there then, good writing KL, gets the brain using itself wondering about such things :)
