woolen lungs

woolen lungs

A Chapter by Lyn Anderson
"

a run

"
Steel wool
burning my lungs
tendrils
ascending
up my throat ...

thighs ache and
ankles wobble,
lips dry; heart pounds,
restoring balance
to the universe again --

I feel fatigue
try to catch me
I shun her
with a defiant crunch
on the gravel street.

swaying a little
to the beat.
feel it in my feet,
my love,
the run.

A healthy body promotes a healthy mind . Muscles and brain cells somehow works and function in similar ways . Im impress with the way you describe the feeling of fatigue and tiredness and pushing ourselves to our limits . The muse here is a good custodian of her physique .

Nothing can compare to that runner's high, it's a rush like no other, but it hurts like hell too til you get to that point in time, puts hair on your chest. :)

Or at least in it. Well, there's one thing that maybe compares, but, I can run all by myself ...
