A Chapter by Lyn Anderson
"

I have written several pieces on what inspired me, and this one is for the challenge on Poetry Challenge.

"
inspire me
with your
heart's desire
fill me
with your
soul's fire,

file me in
your poetry,
an ocean's
misty memory,
wishes
in the sand.

a child's smile,
the laughter of the sun
breaks the darkest day,
music sings of
love and life
and treachery --

a writer's words
broken hearts mended
entire histories upended
not sure how it
came to be
but your poetry is

inside me.

You're welcome :)
Such an invigorating way to describe the inspiration inside us. The sun laughing is a jolly image to imagine. Such a beautiful expression of simply reaching to the soul to pull forth ideas for our pen. Thank you for sharing. Well done.

Hello there!

I love how the poem has a simple nature that is enhanced by your choice of diction. Actually, I read through it several times because I wanted to make sure I was getting everything out of it that I could :)

The second stanza really stands out to me--I couldn't tell you what it is, but I kept re-reading those lines. There's something beautiful/magical/enigmatic about fleeting words, such as those written in the sand (maybe that's just how I perceived it, though).

The third stanza really speaks to the beauty of poetry, I think. How seemingly common things can bring light to dark days. Taking something that others may look right over and weaving it into a delicate tale--a story that can shine new light on it--is the power of writing :)

I definitely feel inspired and I bet that others who read this will feel the same as well! A wonderful piece, thank you for sharing!
