sailing

sailing

A Chapter by Lyn Anderson
"

a memory of sailing prompted this write.

"
Feelings
tethered
to the wind,

blowing
aimlessly --

I wanted
a direction
in which

to sail;
then
          you.

I like the poem. Gentle, hopeful and nice flow of thoughts leading to very good ending. A amazing poem dear Poet.

Love the freedom of this thought and the open-endedness of the "then you", leaving us to wonder and imagine all the then you's we have come across. Superb.

Thank you so much. The idea came from a childhood friend and first real crush.:)
untruss indeed :) i went to college for a few months one time .. in Florida ..and went out with the sailing club once ..i have a vivid picture of it in my mind and often wonder why i didn't go out again ... it was such a positive experience ... just a land lubber i guess .. first verse is so impactfull ...i can feel the jagged edges ..and such relief for loves heart to find home port .. :)

ps i dropped out of college and within a month or two was drafted :O ...

Funny, the things we remember and hold dear. The initial memory I was a mere 11 or so.

just a little jib you were ;)
Timing is everything and sometimes it is also confusing. Why did "he" show up now? The unanswerable. Liked it! Lydi**

Thank you so much. It is one of my most precious -- I believe I was 11.
I love Orinoco Flow, the Enya song.. "let me sail upon your shores"... the water is a wonderful place to be, especially with someone special... I loved your last few lines... "a direction ... and you"... I think you had a special experience KL...

ah yes, the boy, young love, and all that ...
I love being on the water in a boat...doesn't matter what kind. The wind in your face, the sounds...sigh nothing better. Well except maybe flying down the road on a motorcycle. ;-)

Ahh I love sailing, sometimes the wind takes us exactly where we're supposed to be...just saying. Sail away....

Awh, the peace and tranquility of the wind, waves and your words have brought back some memories that should have never had to fade. Thank you :)
