two feet on the pedals

two feet on the pedals

A Chapter by Lyn Anderson
"

just popped into my head. yeah, officially on the sap train today:)

"
one foot on the gas,
and the other hovers
over the brake,

can't get my
heart in gear,
there's too much at stake.

I struggle to reach
the sweet spot
to clutch ...

do I race
forward
or hold back?

if I risk it,
will I spin
off the track?

I knew I should have
kept the damned manual,
but I threw it out,
long ago.

I don't know, but i'm thinking the manual is the ex. Who at some point in life was good for something.
Where you been hiding.

Ha. I like that thought. I have just been very busy.
And when you learn how to drive it you question where or how far to go.
Always so complicated. :)

Thank you darling!
Those are some awesome metaphors… You rev that engine too soon or too fast could cause the engine to need rebuilding and that is expensive on the heart's wallet.

Yeah, it wasn't in my language and I lost it anyway.
Did you keep the motor running? Hallmark is on the phone for you, you won a Hot Rod model of an ice cream truck, ;) I meant sweet!

Yes, I was, and I am admitting to my own sap.

If you write another sapper I'm gonna start worrying about you...just saying.
Splendid metaphor, KL....but in romance, is there a manual? I don't think any rules apply, do they? I enjoyed this one. Lydi**

Thanks so much. If there is a manual, it never worked for me.
I could go down the line of change of oil, or even words like pimping but I rather stay focused withing the parameters of decency. I think you are an experience driver and you need no manual. There are times when stepping back to reach some objectivity is needed mainly through time. So in this sort of terms.

Less bruising more crusing.

Thankyou

Thanks a lot. I noticed a typo. I will try to fix from phone.
You have a way of taking ordinary thoughts and situtions and turning them into rellly enjoyable free verse! And I will never give up my manual!
