rushing headlong into you

rushing headlong into you

A Chapter by Lyn Anderson
"

just a passing glance

"
I can pretend
I wrote a rough draft,
and edited and re-edited,
planned it,
pretty as you please.

I can say
I knew exactly what
would happen
when I came to you
on my knees ...

but, like a poem,
it entered me,
in one dream-like
headlong rush --

I had no time to
think it over,
it pushed through me
in a powerful gush -

The words I use
are irrelevant;
even a blind man could see,
just how much
you mean to me.
