Mad Adders

Mad Adders

A Chapter by Lyn Anderson
"

making fun of me

"
Mad Adders at the cafe'
some will never understand
how the hell can she be
putting another one up?
does she keep 'em in a bucket?
no storing, that's boring,
not much there to edit,
she keys 'em up,
and gives the divine credit --
a grain, a morsel,
a phrase a word,
and off she goes
to add another to the herd.
never reason,
sometimes rhyme,
always the season,
never enough time,
the process is ...
flat out,
pedal pressed
to paper,
never let off the throttle,
lose the moment,
run out of gas ...
It isn't easy,
it's just different,
where you craft and hone,
she strips it to the bone.
If she misses it,
it's gone,
never to return,
back into the
soup of collective
conscience,
on some other Mad Adder's pen
it will burn.

Author's Note

Lyn Anderson
an attempt to describe the divine inspiration process of poetry --
it's written, flat out, in one chunk, as it came to me
The song is because that's how I do a lot of things

A suden rush a constant stream, an internal combustion of expression freed from it's shackles, an intention traveling at terminal velocity never to be subdued.
