more fun than a barrel of monkeys

inspired by Ana and Jon Roggie -- early on, I was inspired by both of you.

I decided I needed
to try on something new today
Just once, I want to get up,
and wear the sun.

I am tired of flogging dead horses
and beating the s**t out of my ex
(who am I kidding, I will never get tired of that)

I am bored of dancing on graves,
and spitting on past mistakes,
and reliving pain of old lives.

I want to be more fun
than a barrel of monkeys,
but I would probably just skin them,
and cut off their heads ...

I am a pretty happy person on the outside, but the inside gunk is what pours onto the page. If I am deliriously happy, I don't write much, or what I write I believe is sub par to my usual. I need the pleasant in between. I can't be so black I can't function, but I need a tinge to work well.

I figure the monkey's are probably pissed off about being stuck n a barrel but hey, I didn't make the cliche up. Interesting poem. What the hell does that mean? We all want to get "better" but we're comfortable yelling at the past we fucked up. That way we we got something or someone to blame.

This made me laugh ! Brighten my day even a miraculous thing already but then just as I was to commit the capital sin and smile it came to me : If the monkeys haven't got a head anymore does that mean that cheeky will be left all alone?

It all started with a conversation with Jon and Ana -- how they both said their default is happy, and it's easiest to write happy. I am like what? Anyway, I tried, I really did. Ana says she loves this song. I have visions of making a sick video to it now. Like in Reservoir Dogs -- I can't listen to "Stuck in the Middle with You" without seeing that scene in my head. And if you haven't watched it, you better ...:)
