pop song run

pop song run

A Chapter by Lyn Anderson
"

This is what you get when you listen to your kid's mp3 player on a run past the Quaker Oats plant.

"
Never been much
for pop songs,
not one for country either.
at least, not usually ...
but that was then,
and today,
is a pop kind of day.
I hear this tune,
can't help but think of you.
running with a silly grin,
s**t, is that drool on my chin?
wind in my hair,
scent of caramel popcorn
in the air,
"you got it bad,"
a friend said to me --
and boy do I,
and if you can't see it,
I'll just go on pretending,
I don't really
have a thing
for you.

This made me smile! A catchy write - though, I must say, I do not care for Carley Rae Jepsen. Haha!

Yeah, not my cup of tea either, but hey, I go where the muse goes
Oh man... Leave your kids MP3 player alone! You might find some Justin Beiber on there or worse. Is there worse? I love that silly grin feeling when you're just chillin, and thinking about someone, romantically. :)
