Alphabet soup confessions

Alphabet soup confessions

A Chapter by Lyn Anderson
"

I was grinning madly when I came up with this one, outside, working today

"
I don't think there ever was an A -
that one stands for me.
the only B
was the first kiss he gave me.
and as for C too many to count
in the wide blue sea.
D was a heartbreak E a misty memory,
skipped the F and went to G's,
oh they were good to me,
HI to to JKL, all special in their own way,
No M or N to give me O's
didn't mind my P's or Q's
R's were well received
S was where I should have stayed
T was a stutter
that led me back to U
no more confessions to be made
yet -- all the way to Z.

Loved it - Very very clever - simplistic but well thought out and flowed nicely...didn't miss the no M or N to give me or O's bit either - very cool, nicely done.

Mark.

Thanks so much. I appreciate it.
well KL, if it did get you a "Mature" label you would then have your "M", though perhaps not the way you may have wanted or intended... ;0) loved your alphabets and an older poem that I unfortunately missed 2 years ago... glad you reposted and I found as I enjoyed reading it...

I never cared for the soup, but the poem sure hits the spot for me! What a clever idea to run with, Kara!

Yeah, have to agree with you on the soup, thank you!
FIRST IMPRESSIONS

I could not help but think of alphabet cereal. As soon as I opened it, I already admired the wit behind the bold faced letters.

FORMAT AND CONTENT

The formatting is inviting. It reads as a jumbled acrostic poem by using the letters. It is used effectively to delve into the speaker's past; comical yet undertones of a serious voice. We have all been there in our array of past relationships. I admire your honesty in a nutshell; "I made mistakes with my choice in men over the years, but it all leads back to one person." This is rather clever in how you set up first loves, experimental conquests, the abusive ones, the obnoxious ones, and the one that got away.

I will be the elephant in the room and say that some will perceive this as "promiscuous" behavior and that is not a bad thing. We are not monogamous creatures like wolves. There are some couples who agree to be in an open relationship which either works or does not. I would consider it to be a moral grey area. No one is perfect. I value honesty rather than self righteousness.

CLOSING THOUGHTS

Overall, I enjoyed this read. Not everyone is willing to admit their faults in such comedic way. Thank you for sharing! I am looking forward to the rest of the chapters.

sincerely,
ria

hehe As well you shouldn't. We are affectionate animals.
what fun! A-Z ... can't tell you the anxiety caused by the "grading system" ... always wondering how i was doing while on the "date" ... forget about finding words .. i probably was most often put in the stutter grouping .. many times too terrified to go back for a second ;} funny how things do work out ..even for the best of the "A"s ...A for awkward :))))))))))))))))

Ha ha. Thank you for the fun confession yourself.
Wonder how many girls went home to their parents telling them they were having an alphabet baby.
Wonder how many parents loaded the gun with alphabet letters.
Dad, don't U, C, he's PC. What will B will B.
We'll see about that, where is the little C.
