the bank is closed

the bank is closed

A Chapter by Lyn Anderson
"

I heard this on the radio today and I couldn't think of a better song to go with my life.

"
The lies and the letters
you left in my drawer,
sorry,
they don't placate me,
not anymore.

Every overdue notice,
every credit extended,
are all the reminders I need.
and although you're a master,
you can't make a stone bleed.

The final straw,
the last bit
for the kids' visit,
you won't pay me back,
and you rung up the phone ...

enough,
the bank is closed,
I am no longer your wife,
you need to find a way
to pay for your own life.

Thanks for the kind words
I'm really beginning to wonder if we were married to the same loser.....if you didn't live across the border I'd say it was definitely a possibility. Seems we had 'free ride' tattooed on our foreheads when they eye'd us.

I am still thinking long lost cousins at least. :)
I may have mentioned this before but men tend to be theroetical lovers thinking just saying makes it so.
Women are more empirical, "Love me? Pay the bills!"

Theory hell!
Oh, this is hard, not something that I have personally lived through my married life but I remember a few things when my parents got divorced. Obviously not the best of times goes without saying. But what I like and not the first time I mention it is your determination , drive and willingness to turn the page. The image portrayed it slightly confusing to the point were you seem to have supported him in more ways than one.

Onwards and upwards? forward? Well, wherever you decide it will be new

Thankyou

HA! yeah I like it just to keep me sane, at least I think I am....am I, I think....I am....am I??
Another real and emotional write 'M'. Plucked from the reality of pain and anger and laid down in verse. I would remove the word 'sad' from the final line to get a better ballance.
