ever since you are gone, I have a chance to be me. the other day I ate my macaroni with a fork, and you don't want to know what I did with your stupid spoon. last night I went out in my undies and howled at the moon. I was at the country music jamboree and bought a cowgirl hat just for me -- I post sunny photos with a little cleavage and a lot of smile, all the while you are wondering, why I changed my style ... but it isn't that I am someone different, I haven't become someone new, I just reclaimed what I always was, free from the shackles of you.
And I bet that reclaiming of freedom felt good. Your words here remind me of how a child must feel when they experience things like wind, snow and rain for the first time. I have never met a single kid that thought the same as adults about the rain, instead they see excitement of jumping in puddles and splashing their worries away. Maybe we could learn more from kids than we think :)
The freedom of your words here indicate that the new found, or reclaimed freedom, is cherished more than gold, and quite rightly so.
This reminded me a bit of Kelly Clarkson's "Since U Been Gone". I enjoyed the conviction in your words, and how free you describe yourself to be without this person cramping your style. I know that feeling well.

That's why I picked "Pork and Beans" -- Weezer, NIN, Korn, etc., are more up my alley, except for my oldies I haven't listened to too much pop in 20 years.
