I am sorry I wrote this. I was reluctant to post it. I may take it down. It comes from the darkest of places and the most personal of pains.
It is hard for me to remember you, and not the horrible things you said and did.
you had a great light, and a big heart, but anger clung to you
like silky webs that wouldn't let you be who you should have been.
The day of your daughter's funeral, you asked the priest if she went to heaven, considering what she did. The priest reassured you, yes, because God is forgiving and good.
It is people who cannot forgive, including me.
I won't forgive you for telling your other daughter, "It was the wrong kid I found hanging from that tree."
I won't forgive you for saying "I will leave this house over my dead body," and fulfilling your own prophecy ...
I won't forgive you for the death of the second, either, but I hope that God did, and that you are together, somewhere, you Three.
I know some people hate poetry that is personal, feeling we should only post peripheral visions of life. All I know is personal, all I write is either empathy for others or from my deepest heart.

Well there are some things that we cannot forgive people for no matter how divine it might be. You are justified on your feelings here…
You know when I was in high school my friend's brother got hit by a car… he was the goth type and didn't get along with the parents… he was on life support and the mom was holding his hand and said "Maybe it is best that you die." Apparently right afterwards he flatlined. I do not believe she ever forgave her mom for saying that to him.

I for one do not hate poetry that speaks of the personal, for some the act of writing those words helps them to understand, to cope with the things that are on their minds. For those that read it, and relate to the words, it helps to understand where the writer is coming from, what has affected them, and what they are trying to deal with in their lives.
My thoughts are with you.
I am so sorry for your loss KL. I can't imagine what you had gone through (and still are, at some level).
I wish I knew what to say to make your pain go away or less painful. All I can offer you is my support and hugs whenever you want them. (((BIG BIG HUGS)))
Never apologize for your pain hun...because it is yours!! Poetry cant always be observations taken from a distance nor should it be. Like me you write from experience and deepest feelings...we are who we are!! This one is powerful and heart rending.. filled with honesty!! Life is not pretty or easy, as a matter of fact its one fucked up b***h. Why should we pretend otherwise? What makes us empathetic humans is the ability to see the tragedy and cry for those that have been hurt. And sometimes they cry for us as I have for you while writing this review....hugs
