Whatever way you slice it

Whatever way you slice it

A Chapter by Lyn Anderson
"

transparent trickery

"
Whatever way you slice it,
White bread is still white bread.
Pretty on the outside,
Lacking substance in the middle.
Dress it up and add things,
Put it in another wrapper,
None of this changes its lack of value
To the person partaking of its bland.
Right through the wrapper,
You can see its transparent trickery.

Uggghhhhh...why have white bread when you can have some delicious twelve grain cradling turkey, avocado and bacon??? Ha... well that's what I prefer. On another note yes...some things look pretty on the outside but on the inside they are just same old same old. Or worse...

So thankful for your extended visit. Yes, pretty on the outside, nothing inside.
You can slap lipstick on it, dress if up and take it to a party, it's still gonna be white bread....just don't bring it to my party. :)

thanks, I appreciate it.
I like this metaphor a lot, Mandy! People who lack substance, well, at first they might seem like great friends, but when you are hungry for emotion, they are sadly lacking, aren't they? Very well said. Lydi**

Hmm white bread being bland and lacking substance in the middle.
I know a few slices of white bread that have a lot of spice and flavor in the middle...you just have to find the right one ;)

Yes, well, the particular type I am referring to is just fluff, no substance.

You are welcome .
Gosh you do erotic verse so well and vitriol. Must be a link somewhere 'M'? This packs a bitter punch. For me I know what I am buying when I buy white bread and it says so on the wrapper, so am never disappointed lol!
