collective thoughts

A Chapter by Lyn Anderson

"
the dog told me all I need to know about you
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
loose gravel
raked thru
the fish bowl
of my life
sometimes,
you gotta just
let it go,
or sweep it away.
__________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Milk weed
and honey
sweet smell
of hay in the
breaking dawn,

thoughts of you
percolating coffee,
wet like morning dew,
enter me softly
tickle my nose,

imagine you to
the ends of my toes,
fill my cup,
drink you up,
                               where it stops,
                               nobody knows.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I ate you
for breakfast
and slurped up
the last of you
with the crust
leftover from
the one before,
licking the plate
clean,
I had to admit
I wanted
more.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
if I had to do it all over again, I would. and I would b***h about it again too.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I ran up the hill,
I caught my breath.
the hitch in my side,
was just a signal,
to crank up the music,
and run some more.
       if there is an obstacle
       in my way,
       I go through, not around.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Apologies are not necessary at this juncture. You can't undo what's been undone.

Thank you so much for your review.
Random it may be but the theme of feelings about Romeo and past experiences with your ex abound in a clever piece.

Well thank you so much. I appreciate that.
I'm personally sorry for being so out of touch but, I'll admit I'd very much like a dog after this.

Thanks, and I agree.
It is interesting how you have taken snippets and made them into a cohesive unit of thoughts and impressions. The running metaphor worked well for me.

Wow, thank you so much. I appreciate the kindness.
First of I was going to do my usual think way too much and try to explain but out of respect I want to start by saying that I loved it!. I was made to study chess for years and this to me KL is like you placed the board on the table and placed the pieces not just in any position but yours. And at the start I could picture the dog after he has done "his business" and then instinctively turning around and covering the hole and off he would go and not disjointed but only a different scene you met somone and it permeated you not sure if wrong but there was sexual tension there (or I need help quickly) as "ate you for breakfast" never felt so good. Then the declaration of "war" which shows an aspect of you as going through never the easiest of tasks but as you seem forceful I guess impale you must. The last bit made me laugh (again maybe it is time for me to visit the shrink) "You can't undo what has been undone" absolutely with a smirk and on smile on top.

Amazing read but I did warn

I loved it!
