A Chapter by Lyn Anderson
"

wiping away death

"
This morning I
wiped the rest
of you away

        quietly,
        without a fuss.

The blankets
are on the line,
floor mopped;
kennel flat.

Fold the bill up,
wait for the
statement
to come in.

Rocks in the ground,
mulch,
a marker;
done.

This scene is brought to me so clearly that I am on the page with you. Your style fascinates me. It's as if you are penning my own thoughts. I have recently buried the family dog who passed after 19 years with this household. Thanks for this enlightening read.
