a plate of apathy

a plate of apathy

A Chapter by Lyn Anderson
"

something I just thought of

"
he prepared me
a plate of
apathy,
dressed as love.

it was garnished with
all the
accoutrements
a girl could want:

lies
treachery
insults
anger
lechery
sloth
jealousy

for dessert he
served me
selfish,
with a cherry on top.

No wonder
I vomited
it all back up
on his shoe.

ha ha ha I had to do it. This has been modified slightly in keeping with the foodie theme, thanks Delmar, it's different than what I said, different that what you suggested, and better, I think than both of us thought.

Very personal, emotional write with good components of poetry and a command of language.

Thank you so much.
Now girl time to move on and rejoice. But the vitriol in this is wonderful and the shockwaves as I know are the aftershocks.

Awesome. As I tell everyone, Delmar set me straight on the path to a perfect foodie metaphor.
A very nice ending to the poem. I like the way you used the words. Made the ending perfect. No weakness in the outstanding and fun poem to read.

Well at least you got a cherry out of the deal. Fiesty KLGoode and can I say that this was KL good? I've wanted to say that since I met you. I enjoyed this one today, even if it did make my stomach queasy.

Well I certainly hope he finally took notice when he found himself wearing a soggy shoe. Awful to have made such a lovely gesture and have him just walk away... Very nicely done!

Thanks so much, I appreciate the review.
Nothing worse than sugar-coated apathy; yes, it is quite sickening... Great stuff here, KL.
