we can't all be Einstein Casanovas

we can't all be Einstein Casanovas

A Chapter by Lyn Anderson
"

it is what it is, as the recently anointed phrase goes.

"
some people
can't see past
their own noses
or navels,
as the case
may be ...

they see you
or him or
him or me,
but they
really don't see
do they?

judgements
rudimentary
in nature are
seared in
superficial
flesh lines,
never peeling back
the underneath.

sometimes the
goof is really
a genius,
and the genius
is a thin
veneer of
vanity wrapped
in a cloak
of charm.

we can't all be
Einstein Casanovas,
but sometimes,
we can be
backward
and brilliant
at the same
time.

Thank you. This was directed at some bullies here. One of the reasons I tend to disappear
I love this little tangle of philosophy, despite my inadequacies in reading a nuanced message. This reads like a snake that's going in one direction, then doubling back on itself & going in the other, or maybe later another direction. But all your statements are thought-provoking & playful at the same time.

People are very quick to judge but you can't judge a book by its cover.

i am just finishing up a book titled "Einstein's Mistakes" by Hans C. Ohanian ...he was a ladies man .. and a jealous sometimes usurper.. but that sort of thing was common practice ..it was all about who published the work first ... he was a horrid mathematician but was genius in his intuitive abilities and it put him light years ahead of others .. tho he could not explain how he got there .. he did arrive first; concerning some things .. James Joyce said of him "The man of genius makes no mistakes. His errors are volitional and are the portals of discovery" ... but James was being kind because Einstein made many mistakes ... but your poem is not about all that ..you have skillfully pealed the skin back to reveal the real man (or woman) ..we try so hard to be one thing we think we (and others) may like ..but the real deal is what most people look for .. satisfaction in relationships can only be built on such foundations .. sharp insights ...well done!

As always passion and a touch of agression in this one. Wonder who you had in mind?

A friend of mine on here who is much maligned for no good reason. It's for that person.

The above lines are true. I like them. Nice flow of thought lead to the very good ending. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

Thank you, I am fond of it myself. It is for a special friend.
I watched last night where supposedly responsible parents "promote" on their children through rigurous training the wanting of becoming a genius. I thought the most appalling thing ever and so after reading this I can only breath and have a huge sigh of relief as it questions what genius can be.

Very well presented and a pleasure to read

Thankyou

Ahh, well thank you, and I do appreciate your recent visits.:)
"Backward and brilliant..." perfectly stated! Beware the cloak of charm... KL, this really is brilliant; nothing backward about your keen observations here.

Thanks very much, I take that as a huge compliment from one so adept at keen observation herself.:)
My wife and I so different in every way interests education speech and thought yet I married her for her genuine nature when she cries they are real tears of sorrow and pain just as when she laughs the sun rises and sets on her there are many types of intelligence the stoicism of common sense for one our most genuine of friends speak to our heart a soul through nothing more than a smile or a tear and we respond in kind I want to thank you KL for this on behalf of our friends
