dragon sister ate my ipod

dragon sister ate my ipod

A Chapter by Lyn Anderson
"

for Frieda

"
It was an ordinary day.
But sometimes,
ordinary days
turn into extraordinary ones.
I heard a rustle
by the trees
or maybe, it was a
sneeze
either way, it gave
my heart a squeeze
when I saw woman
who looked not quite
right ...
twisted skin and bone,
muscle sinew half woman
half dragon or ferocious beast,
she smiled at me
if such atrocities
could be called a smile
and asked in a voice
more akin to nails
on a chalkboard
and almost as intelligible,
"Give me that thing",
at first I thought she meant
my ring but then I saw
she wanted to sing,
and so, not without
great sadness and trepidation
did I offer my ipod in exchange
for my salvation
to this hideous thing.

an hour later I am on hold with Apple
trying to get my unit disconnected --
yes, it was stolen,
can't you see,
I explain patiently
a dragon sister took my ipod,
she seems partial to Rob Zombie ...

Very nice ,weird poems Kit Kat :)
intriguing...but that is what it is like in this technical day and age...can't trust dragons any more....they used to have some sense of dignity...breathed fire, destroyed cities, now all they want is to steal ipods and listen to music.

HAHA that is too funny, I think the great lesson here is life is full of surprises, and even the bad ones can still wind up good.

She made you? What did she hold agin to your head? LOL
You are welcome.
An interesting, and great response to the challenge Frieda issued. I can just imagine some Apple "Genius" on hold' madly searching through Apple doctrine for how to deal with a dragon sister, "Hhmmm, Dungeon and Dragons, nope, Drag racing, nope....."
Well done. I admire those that can turn out a poem quickly, and have it work. I have to fret for days over any poetry I write. Stories, not so much, those flow.

Thanks. I was once told I could spin a tale about anything. I love improv.
Is that a check mate Frieda?
