dragon sister ate my ipod

dragon sister ate my ipod

A Chapter by Lyn Anderson
"

for Frieda

"
It was an ordinary day.
But sometimes,
ordinary days
turn into extraordinary ones.
I heard a rustle
by the trees
or maybe, it was a
sneeze
either way, it gave
my heart a squeeze
when I saw woman
who looked not quite
right ...
twisted skin and bone,
muscle sinew half woman
half dragon or ferocious beast,
she smiled at me
if such atrocities
could be called a smile
and asked in a voice
more akin to nails
on a chalkboard
and almost as intelligible,
"Give me that thing",
at first I thought she meant
my ring but then I saw
she wanted to sing,
and so, not without
great sadness and trepidation
did I offer my ipod in exchange
for my salvation
to this hideous thing.

an hour later I am on hold with Apple
trying to get my unit disconnected --
yes, it was stolen,
can't you see,
I explain patiently
a dragon sister took my ipod,
she seems partial to Rob Zombie ...

I think I have yet to experience an ordinary day, there's always something that will turn the walls inside out and dump you into surrealville. But look on the bright side, you'll save oodles of time not having to agree to their terms and conditions, which change every five minutes. Don't they know, we agree already :)

That's driven. Damned autocorrect makes us all sound like idiots

Yes autocorrect is quite the nuisance. I turn it off and it resets every update
That was the problem with having an Apple - she wanted a byte of it. Musically, of course ,my Samsung may have appeared more suitable for her needs.
Thanks for the chuckle!!!

An hilariously funny poem complete with the latests technology. My dear dragon sister wouldn't know what to do with an iPod. Me neither, for that matter.
Well, this was great fun to read. It made me smile today.

leave it to Frieda to come up with such a challenge ... enjoyed your poem .. i don't do I-pods nor phones but if i did i am sure my sister would want it ... tho she lives far away such a creature could easily make the jump ... fun read ..

I wish on the Frieda front
Loved it, most especial was the "atrocity of a smile" that said much.
