Car wash

Car wash

A Chapter by Lyn Anderson
"

oh you will see

"

Just as I start,

A song comes on

The radio --

Can’t help but smile,

“Dirty Girl”

She has such style,

I found my earrings --

One under the seat,

Wouldn’t you know?

Had to vacuum, fix the mats,

Wipe some mysterious

Spots away --

Spray some perfume

To cover up

Your cologne --

I don’t believe I ever

Smiled, whistled and laughed

At once,

While cleaning up

My car …

Yeah, blame Frieda, she sent me the link to the song, knowing in advance I probably already liked it.. read more
KL -- what pretty little song about dirty little secret... I especially liked the "smiled, whistled and laughed" line and the no regrets attitude of the character in the poem. I just want to know where she found the "other " earring? This is a very well played verse!

That is so nice of you to say, I do believe I must catch up on my reading, thanks.
"spray to cover your cologne"

cool line...

washing away those blues from the past...."working at the car wash, girl" had me humming a bit of rose royce there, KL...

i like how you captured the moment...you do that very well...little snapshots of life.
