the cantaloupe

some weird stuff is just seeping in

a cantaloupe
appears to be
sweeter
than it actually is
it shouldn't have
an off aftertaste
but it does,
and be damned
if they don't
always put it in
fruit salad.
                       sometimes
                 you just have to
                    ignore the cantaloupe
                          because you
                                like the rest.

yeah it is not like it is a honey dew melon or anything I never liked it But my son does and I use to look at him over the table as a child and make faces as he ate it like ewww
