A Chapter by Lyn Anderson
"

I have returned after computer purgatory

"
the empty

Her womb is sealed shut
but the pain she feels
from them leaving
is real as that day.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
sorry

Sorry you have not heard from me,
I was busy pretending not to care,
I don't need water
I don't need air
and I
don't miss you
when you
are not
there.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

When she smiled
the reason for
you and me
became
clear

Our children are a delightful combination of their two parents. Even if the two parents are no longer together, a smile, a laugh, or a twinkle of the eyes can bring it all back. Of course you loved their father once upon a time. tequila and ice sounds nice! :) Lydi**

Thanks, yes, and I like to revisit the older poems on occasion.
God bless the children!! nothing like their little smiles! i really like where this poem takes me ... so grateful my 4 children avoided major hospital care, jail and unwanted pregnancies ...so glad! their dimpled smiles passed on to my grandchildren delight me all over again ..thanks for sharing this one Ms. Goode!

I have thought exactly this when I look at my children and they smile at me.

(Well... Tied for first maybe)
:D
A well written series of short verses. Sorry I think is a common feeling expressed with uncommon precision.
When she smiled.... Parents love, despite the heartache... Lovely.

When you have lost your sense of humour, you have lost everything. And you know what … sometimes, tequila does indeed help:) Powerful and wry write.
