My soft underbelly (sort of)

My soft underbelly (sort of)

A Chapter by Lyn Anderson
"

once when I was someone else ...

"
As Poesias

As poesias ...
he wraps me
in blankets
of his words
As sonhas ...
covers me
in dreams
As tocas ...
tickles me
with his
heart --
Meu amor ...
captures
me with his
art.

Poesias = poems Sonhas =dreams, Tocas = touches Meu Amor =My Love
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
       the little things ...

       It's the little things, really

       like how he silently hands
       her all the fixings to
       the morning coffee
       he doesn't drink himself.

       Or how he keeps
       the towels fluffed and ready
       on the top shelf.

       Or how he makes sure
       her favourite drinks
       are stocked
       just in case
       she might come over,

       Or how he quietly
       pats her hand
       when he rolls over.

       It's the little things really,
       that make the man.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I should have known
you weren't the one for me
after all those years
you still had to ask
how I took my coffee ...

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I did it.
today I pushed off
from the shore,
for the first time,
I left my anchor
at home,
and I told you
that I did.
Suddenly,
I don't care
if you want to
sail away with me.
If you don't,
I will find my way
in this ocean
and you will
have just missed
the boat.

KL, wow, this is the best stuff yet, in my humble opinion.
It's romantic, smart, confident.
Great stuff.

I really enjoyed these poems KLGoode, but the last two really spoke to me. Not too greeting cardish in my opinion.

Thanks. This is pretty much my sap quotient.:)
Each of these finds, at first I thought there were only three and therefore some kind of trilogy, a treasure chest of smashingly composed poetry. Then on reflection, the fourth, or rather the third of four was found, tucked snugly to the right and fitted in just perfectly.... I take mine strong and black with no sweeteners......AGT's N

Great writing - not greeting cardish at all.
