Now you see me

Now you see me

A Chapter by Lyn Anderson
"

After all these years, he finally notices me ...

"
You were captain of everything
handsome and strong --

I was the envy of every girl at the party
Feeling so sexy
in my black dress
with the ribbon tied at the back --

Every dance you held me closer,
second glance became a kiss,
and before the night was over
you had lassoed my heart's loneliness.

But I was that girl no one wanted,
the one they shunned in the hall,
and the next day you pretended
you never knew me at all.

Flash forward to an email
a lifetime and half a world away
you somehow notice me
after all was said and gone--

But this time you are the pot bellied divorce'
and I am the girl who got away.

Haha yep karma strikes again :)
Good capture of an wrong done to you that somehow time and space wrapped up and handed it back to you. I laughed right out loud at "pot bellied divorcee" as that was the best reward. I bet he thought he was all that and a bag of chips.... Unfortunately most of us have a story like this - people are just not always that nice or genuine.... and after all those years.... it can still hurt. Thanks for making me think about that time in my life and how there are a few pot bellied trolls I can laugh at too :)

Awesome. I had fun with it. I admit it.
This is so sad. I am glad to see how the tables have turned - good old karma - but still, painful to read. I am sorry you were bullied and that night instilled a false hope.

Painful, but beautifully penned. xo :)

Karma is a biatch sometimes isn't it.. I can relate to this.. I was teased a bullied as a child because my family was poor and I was this skinny, quirky, little sad girl... forward years later and they are falling over their feet trying to be friends... I don't think so... I love this..
