You think you beat it but you haven't

Strong and proud
her smile hides
the girl inside

Tall and loud
she silently
shouts "pick me!"

and suddenly
someone says
"you need a partner?"

and she stuffs it
back in her
mind's end,

the girl last picked
but first one kicked
just around the bend.

Well I know this girl all too well but if she hangs in there she realized being strong or the odd person out for the right reason is the most honorable position one can hold. Only the real recognize her. Good, earthy and meaningful KL.
