EX Repellent

EX Repellent

A Chapter by Lyn Anderson
"

something that occurred to me

"
dealing with a repellent
EX propels me to pursue
a recipe ...

change the locks
don't answer the phone,
never tell him when
you are alone,
climb the tower,
jump out of the plane,
arrange the silver ware
in the way he'd complain ...
wear the clothes
and style the hair
"why you doing that
you ain't going nowhere?"

don't buy the crap
he always bought,
don't think the things
he always thought,
make the friend he
imagined you had
when you didn't;
adopt the dog
that would make
him shiver with fear,
one more thing
so he won't come near.

So what you're saying is, you are going somewhere, straight out your life buddy. You'll go far girl. Killer dog for sale, no known owners.

Thanks for popping by and leaving your thoughts.
A great way to exorcise the EX.....it made me giggle...especially the
"style the hair
"why you doing that
you ain't going nowhere?" Great stuff here, KL. Humor helps us deal with almost anything. Lydi**

I had fun with this one. As 2014 rolled into 2015, the poems gradually went from 80 percent vitriole.. read more

funny coincidence....here i am reading your poem...and am listening to shawn colvin's "sunny came home"

making a few small repairs...which the speaker in this poem is doing...in a not so subtle way...
