THAT mom

THAT mom

A Chapter by Lyn Anderson
"

you will see

"
Who does she think she is?
THAT mom in her skinny jeans?
make up done,
her hair not a mess?
where are her sweat pants?
is that a new dress?
Who does she think she is?
a man nudges another,
THAT is somebody's mother?

Wait, now she is smiling at me --
pleased to meet you,
I noticed you over there,
don't worry, she giggles,
you'll get used to their glares,
and all the sudden I am
officially, unexpectedly,
joining THAT mom
on the other side of the fence.

sorry I have another opinion, that sounded to me more like ironic, because you are using "THAT" with capital letter to me it's like "the other" which is the unaccepted person in society. that is my own point of view. and when at the end you said "The other side of the fence " its like 2 worlds, and you are leaving one ,that is of being a stanger to that mom, for her being with you .
But I respect all people, not your best, but well done :)

You are welcome...No problem...:)......
Feels damn good to be on that side of the fence for once - and without caring about being so, loved this - made me think it is time for a change too x

Thanks so much. Yes, it is liberating, and strange. I kind of morphed into the wallpaper for a while.. read more
I like this so much. Its like you are saying don't make fun of people who are/doing certain things or one day you will be doing the same thing even if you said that it will never happen to you or that you will never become that. Never say never because one day it just might be you. Just some thoughts. This is thought provoking and true.

Oh hello. Thank you for stopping by and reviewing.:)
Give me that mom any day. There's something about a mom who takes care of herself and shows it.
Great job ma'am! :)

Hey if you got it; flaunt it!
You are right.I am that mom and there is no one who can tell me what I can and cannot wear.My jeans are tight ,my dresses are short ,my nails are well done and I am still a great mom so screw those people who think they know a thing about anything.
