How did she know?

How did she know?

A Chapter by Lyn Anderson
"

the opposite of Whitney's "How Will I Know"

"
How did she know?

Was it the dishes in the sink?
Was it the lies that didn't blink?

Was it the rejection of her affection?
Was it his failure to look in her direction?

Maybe when he got her coffee.
After 13 years and two kids
he had to ask if she took sugar.

Or maybe it was the time
he told her he was too depressed
and too tired to hold her.

Or any one of thousands of days
of undone dishes, untruths,
and countless accusations.

But no, it was her first 10 k run.
at the finish line was everyone --
                            except him.

Bahahaha! Captcha knew! :)

Dear, sister KL.. Stop freaking me out. This is an amazing write. People come together and can fall apart so easily. I am going through similar things right now where it's the little things that are starting to get to me and I feel like we are falling apart before his eyes and he won't notice until it is too late. Gosh you've expressed this beautifully. xo (:

Yes, in the end, the mountain of little things is still a mountain. My heart goes out to you.:)
It all comes up to a big thing when you add up all the little things :)

Yes, yes it does. Apparently, none of the above are reason enough, but plenty for me.
Wow. So personal and powerful. Another mighty one...:)..............

Glad you liked this one. It is close to my heart.
Ah geez … this one really hit me, KL. There is both tragedy and inspiration in this piece. Long may you run; long may you write.
