Paper chains

Paper chains

A Chapter by Lyn Anderson
"

yeah yeah yeah look away if you don't like it.

"
wrap
me up in paper chains
and fool's gold
it won't change a thing.

vows
on paper you forgot
while you cursed and
spit and bellowed --

lies
on paper; promises
you made and broke
like brittle toothpicks

ties
on paper cannot bind me;
keep me from doing
what I want to

funny
how you now want
a piece of paper
to mean more to me
than it ever did to you.

Oh the anger and the irony--sentiments you penned elegantly and unbelievably well! Nice!!

Thanks so much. Your reviews make me smile.

It is sad indeed and liberating for others when relationships are narrowed down to a piece of paper without any meaning whatsoever. Bravo on the poem and maybe the final piece of paper...:)..............

ahh, I wish. I am in for the long haul. Nobody said anything worth doing was easy.

Yep. You are welcome...:).....................
Rock, paper, scissors, seems like that's what it's about and it's a crap shoot most times...keep 'em coming.

Well, it doesn't matter. Legal chains are not strong enough to tie me to his anchor.
