Chamber locked and loaded

Chamber locked and loaded

A Chapter by Lyn Anderson
"

for Delmar, whose reviews never cease to trigger poems.

"
latent thoughts loaded
in the chamber of my mind
an anxious gun
an itchy trigger finger
click off the safety
and wait for your
next assault --

they come slyly,
when I am unprepared
try to touch me
through the telephone
invade my inbox
pummel me thru texts

you are the one who
always said you were
most capable of
tearing me to shreds
with your words.

Instead I let them
bounce off the shield
I slowly piece together
day by day without you here

and each time it gets
easier to shatter you
as my latent thoughts
reload.

Yes, the intruder is ever present. Thanks for stopping by.
I love this! It peaks peace to my heart--I know that might be odd, but it does! Cleverly written and sentiment beautifully shared!

I'm trigger cautious if you are trigger happy. Shatter them with bullets and spaltter their blood before your temperature plummets. A splendid poem...:).................
