she woke

with a start and it was startling

She woke
with a start
the dream playing
in her mind,
16 mm before her
eyes in flashes,
filled with dots
and whirrs,
her eyes blurred --

"Just lie there",
he said, and his
brown eyes dragged
her into him,

Kakabeka burbled lies
in the sun.

"You look so
beautiful, I have to
take a picture".

And in that moment
she wondered just
where that damned
photo was; feeling a
sudden need
to start a fire.

Author's Note

Kakabeka is a little known but exceedingly beautiful waterfalls outside Thunder Bay, Ontario, and is the perfect setting for a heart break.

I got chills reading this...
Not good ones however.
The line, " Just lie there", makes me want to vomit...
It is such a disrespect of the individual.

As I read thus again, it could be a pose for a picture or an artist, but I think I felt a very negative vibe... Maybe I was projecting here.
I wonder how others read this and what you really intended?

It was a perfect sunny day. It was breathtaking. And he took that photo. And then he was gone. And now I can't think of one of the most beautiful places I have ever been to without thinking about that day. You haven't been through such things -- and if you are lucky, you never will ...
