she woke

she woke

A Chapter by Lyn Anderson
"

with a start and it was startling

"
She woke
with a start
the dream playing
in her mind,
16 mm before her
eyes in flashes,
filled with dots
and whirrs,
her eyes blurred --

"Just lie there",
he said, and his
brown eyes dragged
her into him,

Kakabeka burbled lies
in the sun.

"You look so
beautiful, I have to

take a picture".

And in that moment
she wondered just
where that damned
photo was; feeling a
sudden need
to start a fire.

I got chills reading this...
Not good ones however.
The line, " Just lie there", makes me want to vomit...
It is such a disrespect of the individual.

As I read thus again, it could be a pose for a picture or an artist, but I think I felt a very negative vibe... Maybe I was projecting here.
I wonder how others read this and what you really intended?
A brilliant and subtle write.

Thanks so much, I appreciate your review.
Beautiful, KL. I love the mention of the 16 mm. The detail is good, too...with his remembered words.

Beautiful Kl. I will have to check out Kakabeka. She can burn the pictures but it will always exist.

Yes it will. It is a beautiful place.
We must share halves of the same soul. I feel exactly where you are coming from with this and understand the power it feels the other person holds over you. Those beautiful memories aren't just yours.. Fantastic, as always, KL. xo :)

Thank you. It was hard to write this one, but easy too ...
we tie so many personal things to other people...
THAT is part of what makes break-ups so damn rough regardless of who does the choosing.

Yes, you have that right.
I'm afraid I'm too dull to understand this piece. Haha. Nevertheless, I can say that I like the ambiguity and depth of your words. You mentioned in your note that Kakabeka is perfect for a heart break. Why is that so?
