she woke

she woke

A Chapter by Lyn Anderson
"

with a start and it was startling

"
She woke
with a start
the dream playing
in her mind,
16 mm before her
eyes in flashes,
filled with dots
and whirrs,
her eyes blurred --

"Just lie there",
he said, and his
brown eyes dragged
her into him,

Kakabeka burbled lies
in the sun.

"You look so
beautiful, I have to

take a picture".

And in that moment
she wondered just
where that damned
photo was; feeling a
sudden need
to start a fire.

Ah, the moments that were memorialized in photos.....the moments we cherished....until! Oh, that fire would be huge, but unfortunately some memories can not be burned out of our souls. Good one, KL. Lydi**

Thanks for stopping by this one. I appreciate it.
Something tells me this would be a big fire. Lot of heartbreak coming out of this, hope it's cathartic.

Thanks. There isn't too much left in this old reel. Only comes up now and again.
It's probably good that only your dreams are in 16 mm... a lost photo is one thing. One of those videos can end up anywhere! Love the bit where "his brown eyes dragged her into him." I may be partial, though, since my eyes are brown.

I'm reminded of that TLC song.
Don't go chasing waterfalls...
Waterfalls are exciting but sometimes dangerous.

I was madly in love. This one hurt. Thanks.
The memory of many beautiful events in life often become collateral damage to those inevitable day-to-day vicissitudes. It’s better to pluck our gems from mud, polishing each of them to remove all their built-up crud.

What a great thought.
Ohh, nice! Cleansing and purification, you always stir the pot and bring forth release of the inner warrior x

The inner warrior. Hmm, I will have to think on that one. Thank you.
Beautiful setting of nature for a permanent photo of love then comes the heartbreak. Sad and emotive...:)........

You are welcome...:).........................
Now a match to start a fire of material memory. Then a sharp metaphor to poke out the mind's eye. Where does it end?

Oh well I am a firestarter by trade :)
Breathtaking & sad in the same moment, you really pack so much emotion into so few words, I'm in awe of your mastery.
