A fantastical romance

A fantastical romance

A Chapter by Lyn Anderson
"

this has been rattling around in my head all day.

"
A fair young
lioness stumbled
through a field
of broken dreams,
and ran into
a most helpful
scarecrow.

He did not tell her
all he wanted was
her brain.

The last one he
stole was pickled
and worn,
but thankfully,
she got away
before too
much pain.

Next she fumbled
into a man of tin

He didn't have
a heart of his own
and thought hers
was his to win.

But he didn't
play fair and in
the middle of the
night he took it
and locked it up
tight.

Finally she found
her courage,
and reclaimed what was
always hers to keep.

Thanks so much. I appreciate you stopping by.
This is actually pretty cool. I never much cared for the "The Wizard of Oz" but this is actually intriguing. I'd read it if it was like this.

That's a huge compliment, even tho I love the story myself.
great little take on the story. All he wanted was her brain. That line hit home for me.

Interesting twist. I wonder what else she would have lost if she stayed any longer.

Thanks. As you can see, today's festivities made it a little hard to write.

Don't let the peons get you down, you've dealt with the kraken, you can surely handle that mess...

Hearing that from one who is wickedly weird makes my night.
Clever...well done...
Here's something I bet you didn't know...I remember all the words to the scarecrow song from that movie.
Enjoyed this...the bitterness slid aside a little.....cool
