Burning bridges

Burning bridges

A Chapter by Lyn Anderson
"

on a little trip again

"
it makes
loathsome
noises
begging
to be
fed
but I can't
eat
for fear of
chucking
up
on my shoe
Is this
what you
intended?
keeping me
twisted
anxious
and bended?
till the
bridge
between
us
is past,
scorched
and
crumbles
to
ash.

I can almost feel the angst emanating from between the lines here. When a relationship loses its footing and begins to crumble, nothing is right. There is no hunger for food....only for a way to repair the damage. Unfortunately, often that is not possible. Intensely and powerfully expressed emotions. The staccato lines are so effective. Very emotive and full of angst without sounding forced or generic/cliche.
Well penned.
Thanks for sharing.

As always flowing poignant and very expressive poetry that conveys deep emotional hurt and great angst
