This woman was the brightest feistiest 93 year old you would ever meet - and I was lucky enough to call her my friend.
Time flies it has become a cliche' I sit and wonder how I ever reached this day so many yesterdays ... how I ever changed this way wrinkled hands a once smooth face I am still a member of the human race do not count me out I do not want much just a little dignity can't you see? I am still me!
It's true I'm old but I'm also wise I've seen the looks in the eyes of passersby and tomorrow and tomorrow they will be me alone and thinking how time flies.
How very true, K. I can remember thinking if I lived 'til the milennium, I would be ancient. And somehow I did and I still don't feel ancient. It's all relative. But someday everyone will be old, if they're lucky enough to live long enough. Then they'll be the ones on the receiving end of those pitying looks. This is a first rate poem. Pulls at the heartstrings and stirs up a lot of emotion.
