i fell in love with the ocean

She loves to listen to
the waves.
they tell her she is beautiful
and she surrenders
to their wet kisses
in the night.

         drowning
                     is
          ecstasy.

I like how you described the ocean like a lover. I love oceans, too, and everything associated with water. (I have always dreamed of becoming a mermaid. Haha.) "Drowning is ecstasy" is a brilliant line. But I'd separate it into another stanza for some effect. Nevertheless, a lovely poem.

yes, well, I love the ocean. As a landlocked Canadian, I don't get to enjoy it as much as I would like. and thanks for the suggest. I will think on it. That poem has kind of been frozen in time for 26 years.
