A Chapter by Lyn Anderson
"

sometimes we all want to just slit our wrists

"
Just tell them all not to cry
I know they don't really care.
I only wanted something
no one could give me
(he said he was mine)
Now they don't have to try
or pretend that life is fair
There will be nothing
anyone can tell me
(which suits me just fine)

And I can hear him knocking
knocking at my door
'quoth the' dead
'nevermore'.

An interesting and thought provoking piece on the thoughts of someone so miserable the want to die. They are not a homogenous group and in this you appear to have captured the angry, 'get my own back' type. Edgar Allan Poe might be pleased that you borrowed his line although 'Nevermore' would be in quotation marks as it is what 'he' quoth.

Yes, done. I always wondered about what to do about that.

Death can be viewed in many ways. The living dead, the dead indeed and the survivors of life's unfairness. I think you are a great survivor and with the "nevermore" attitude...Excellent...:)........................

Wow. You are welcome...:).....................
I didn't realise my awful writing drove people to such lengths, it must be as bad as they tell me (!). This is quite a heavy piece to take in, I really get the intense emotion from the words, the sense of urgency, the hurt and momentary "you can't stop me"; it's a very real and therefore well-written poem. Bravo!

I just want something no one could give me. It's been a while since the loss of someone who should have been more permanent in my life made me want to slit my wrists but this poem describes that so well
