to the market

to the market

A Chapter by Lyn Anderson
"

carcinogenic progress

"
Oh such is the fate
that whispers past
the trees disguised
as dust
but
deadly.
and neither do
the farmers know
what is living
breathing in the
milk of animals
dormant in their flesh.
so to the market
must we go
to pay
$9.99
for a
new and improved
form of
cancer.

Just like you to clobber me over the head, and yikes so true! Where you shopping these days, $9.99? I paid $13.79 for my cancer fix...very profound in a lighthearted manner that gets the point across loud and clear....

I knew I should have stayed across the border...
Short, sweet (or not so), and with a sinister message. We are only so caught up in all these Heath scares because science has found links. It is not that long ago that butter, milk and eggs were being promoted as 'health' foods. And it is our wish for longevity that fuels our fear.

I so miss your posts.
So true, pesticides in many forms are sprayed onto crops even the trees can get a dusting, then we have the various chemicals used on farmyard animals right from birth to slaughter and where does it all end up? Of course...at the Market !

Penned creatively but there is purposeful and perceptive message within!
