your parasite

your parasite

A Chapter by Lyn Anderson
"

pretty self explanatory really

"
I just wanted to tell you
when you left
you left something behind
and I would like you
to take it back
(no, it's not your shirt - I am keeping that)
it crawls beneath my skin
an insistent visitor that
prods me in my sleep
a constant intruder
in my dreams
worse than an itch
you can't quite reach
or that annoying little
piece of apple stuck
between your front teeth
the hair that gathers
in the drain waiting to
catch the next escapees -
a coffee stain on your
favourite sweater
or a cigarette burn
on the couch
a scab that won't heal
a burn that just keeps
stinging
stop that damned
ringing in my ears
nails on a chalkboard
your parasite eats away
at me
take it back
give it to someone
else
I don't want it
anymore.

Yes indeed you can wave goodbye and remove all the material belongings of that someone who has caused you so much anguish, but the grief and heartache are rather more difficult to completely eradicate !

An impressive poetic write about a metaphoric paradoxical parasite !

I originally never commented. Was oblivious to the etiquette of replying to reviews. Pardon me.
An excellent piece full of vitriol aimed at one who has caused hurt. The parasite analogy is good but in hindsight I might suggest?
