the 99 cent breakfast special

the 99 cent breakfast special

A Chapter by Lyn Anderson
"

my kind of love poem

"
my head is splitting open -
a stubborn egg
cracked
against the stove
                                   bruises erupt
                                   from the tortured mind

my heart is bleeding -
raw meat
pulverized
on the marble board
                                  tears ooze
                                  from the jagged wound

you smashed my skull
crushed my heart
made a meal out of them
so you could eat me alive.

Steak and eggs anyone?

It sounds like somebody deserves a knuckle sandwich for breakfast. A great emotional piece.

Long time no see. Thanks for popping in on this historical piece. Written circa 1994 I think
Perhaps the pen is mightier than the sword, and the wounds inflicted enough to drive the hurt away, but then, an ability to read on the part of the abuser would be necessary to comprehend the actions.
Unfortunately that's seldom the case.

Hard hitting poem. Lyn. Care for cereal myself. Light and easy no violence.

Breakfast would be a cup of tea, matched with a glass of juice.
Still,
there might be a rasher of bacon.
Also,
a few potatoes.
Pleasant conversation on the side.

Peaceful morning.
One where only the pig suffered an early end.

I do feel for the potatoes as well.

Yes, that is true, thanks.
Well Lyn, I do admit that being a dumbass at times, I thought that this, at least the parts left aligned, were about becoming a vegetarian. Your ability to lead us both to and away from what we think is the subject and what is the subject, and to garnish with a twist, is utterly superb.
Ps...i was going to review by saying I bet the dumbass its about would think its about being veggie...until I realised it was what I was thinking. I always had a nagging doubt I was a dumbass.

Wow there was some emotional violence there. Powerful, made me feel like mincemeat. No steak here.
