The Wolf

At the far edge of the world
there is a moonlit path
and there a dark figure
with golden eyes
with furry muzzle to the sky
Surrenders to the darkness a lonely
song
Forever true to the wilderness

A furry muzzle. Muzzles usually keep an animal quiet or from biting yet this one sings a song to the wilderness. I may have to think about this one a bit.

I don't even know if you ever pop in, but I thank you all the same -- way too late.
is it really - lonely? or is it a voice sounding it's acceptance of life and raising challenge toward tomorrow?

I think there are some beautiful beginnings here, but I do think that the poem could be expanded upon. What are you interested in exploring through this piece? Maybe that answer could guide you to adding another stanza or two. Would love to read it!

Read the other two - listening and Yeah - the wolf was the original kernel of the idea
The wolf is very cool. Can survive with man near and far. I saw the large wolves in upper Michigan. A 200 pound wolf had no fear. I enjoyed the description. Can't tame a wolf. Always a dangerous house pet. Thank you for the excellent poetry.
