Revenge is SweetA Chapter by Lyn AndersonI often postulated about revenge - its reasons and consequences. This poem got me a trip to Florida at 16 - it is still one of my personal faves
If anyone had seen him there
Standing in that lonely, hellish street They would not have known what he was But I knew and he knew too I turned to him and looked Into the eyes which had tormented me What seemed only yesterday I saw the mouth that mocked me Dared me to run away I saw the man who had taken me Robbed me of my soul. I knew and he knew too That it was time - Time to make up for some of what was lost. If anyone had seen him there Lying motionless in that lonely, peaceful street, They would not have known what he was. But that, is of no consequence For revenge is oh so sweet. © 2016 Lyn AndersonAuthor's Note
