betrayal by someone i thought was a friend

you were then unaware
of the pain i felt
back then?
when i felt so alone
so empty
when i wanted to

you wish you could go back
and wrap your arms around
the person i was then
and tell me it was going to be alright?

and that touched something
deep inside me

you had to your chance
to change what was by
standing up for me

but you turn away
and ignore me
you do not tell them

not help me then

do not help me when
