A fork in the road

A fork in the road

A Chapter by Lyn Anderson
"

umm, I once had a high school English teacher who said the sweetest love is unrequited. I must agree.

"
A fork in the road
i took a magical adventure
a crystal ball
wish
to see into
the future
so i could know
what to do
should i give my heart
away
or keep it so i
will not be burned
i am so afraid to
love you
but even more
afraid to let
you go
what i want is too much
to ask of both of us
where will we be a year from now
a day!
i want us to go our
separate ways but
somehow not forget through
others
i want to stop short
of falling in love
so we can
save it
for the next
fork in the road

I like the title as well as the fitting poem...Bravo............

We all face "forks in the road" of life and often we are reluctant to stick that fork into the situation and fully imbibe. Thing is, the opportunity might not be around when we get to that next fork in the road. When it is love, it is not possible to hold back. I liked the short lines and the emotions expressed in this one. Good work. Lydi**

I found the lines:
"i took a magical adventure
i wish a crystal ball"
Rather clumsy but apart from that it is another well constructed, flowing piece.
Boy you have been busy!
