3rd. August, 1958A Poem by JuborajThis poem was written by my late father (unpublished). Dated the 3rd of August 1958 (marriage anniversary). My troubled mind is backwards cast, This luckless year, with woes galore, And dreams the scenes of joyful past, Like scraps of half forgotten lore. In mortal pain, I toil and languish, And brood if I shall face once more A future dark, in deepest anguish, Or live like golden days of yore. Upon this fateful day, Oh, Wife ! Yet once again, I wish to thee A happy, happy, married life, If life, on earth, can happy be ! And when, in throes of death immortal, From mould of clay my soul shall flee : With parting breath, from life's last portal, A life of joy I'll wish for thee !
