Where to Go

Ever feel like you think to much? Dream to much? Can't decide where to go and want to let everything out?

On one side
I've got one dream
On the other
Another

They fight for all the room in my mind
Each wanting to fill it up
Overflow it with new ideas

One side uses words
Glorious, sweet tasting words
To vy for my attention

The other side uses pictures
Beautiful, colorful images
To try and be brighter

Each dream shines and grows
Trying to be bigger and brighter than
the other

I try to think
Be organized and logical
But my mind is full of dreams
And the dreams are spontaneous
Creative means of expression

So I pour them onto the paper
Pour out the dreams
The words, the colors
Everything I feel goes onto the paper

Until I am left with an empty mind
And I stand there
Still not knowing where to go
As the paper absorbs the dreams
The pictures and the words
They no longer fight
But merely sit there showing there beauty

And I?
I am a creative well run dry
For now
But tomorrow I will dream again
And still not know
Where to go...

Author's Note

Take what you will from this, its open to interpratation, but I wrote it becayse I can't decide whether I want to focus more on being a writer or an artist, and I decidwd at the end of the day, I don't really have to. When my mind fills up with plans and thoughts, I let them out. And that's all I need to do.

You can be both a writer and an artist i am
cause i write and draw so you do not need give up one dream for another let them flow as one and separate writing is a form of art
and the drawing tells a story in itself

The mind is a wonderful thing and regardless if things seem crazy and unkept inside it, each dream should be followed. Because they're you're dreams and if you don't try and achieve them while you can then you'll regret it later. They're precious and worth pursuing so don't pick one over the other!! Follow them all! :) this life is too short and too special to not to

Love this poem! As a artist of multiple mediums(scupting, writing, sketching, and painting) I have been in that predicament many times. I have found that if i go with whatever medium i feel inspired to do at the moment all of my artistic hobbies remain balanced and intact.

Creative energy is a wonderful thing is it not? It seems to take on a direction of its own when allowed to flow freely. :). Either one that you choose makes you an artist as writing is an art.
