Not a DayDream

Not a DayDream

A Poem by amdc101

I thought you were my daydream
The one who understood me
The perfect match
The very best
Thought we would end up happy
But now I know what lies beyond
Behind the smile and the eyes

I watch you put your arm around her
I turn away like it doesn't matter
Like it doesn't hurt to see you laughing
Without me being funny

So as the tears well up
And sparkle on my lashes
I turn and run
Putting it past

Now I feel the pain of longing
I found out you are not mine.
